Jennifer Saftler specializes in figurative oil painting, emphasizing the weight and intensity of emotions as well as the whimsical and weightless aspects of life. Saftler weaves together these elements, creating narratives that invite viewers to explore the depths of their own emotions and experiences.
Central to Saftler's artistic expression is her affinity for miniatures and dioramas. She invites the viewer into her tiny worlds, striving to convey the intricacies of emotions, from the weight of sorrow to the flicker of hope. Her pieces serve as visual meditations on the universal struggles and triumphs we all encounter in life, inviting viewers to confront their own journeys with empathy and self-reflection.
Saftler has a diverse background in illustration, web design, and freelance work. She holds a BFA in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA in Painting from the New York Academy of Art.
Saftler works out of her studio in Long Island City, New York when not teaching art to small children.
